DEMAND for counselling in the region is on the rise.
Relationships Scotland Dumfries and Galloway say they have experienced increased demand for their services of 15 per cent over the last six months.
They offer face to face, online or telephone counselling and individual counselling as well as couple counselling.
Chief executive John Dougan said: “People access counselling for various reasons, mental health, bereavement, loss, caring responsibilities, anxiety, relationship issues, the list is not exhaustive. “If you think counselling is something that might help, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, or if you would like further information or have a question, call us on 01387 251 245, email [email protected] or visit our website, www.rsdg.org.uk.
“Apart from counselling we also offer family mediation and child contact services.”
The local picture is reflected nationally as well with parent charity Relationships Scotland last week saying they are offering increased support to Scottish families.
And they noted that continued fallout from the pandemic and the cost of living crisis are having a negative impact on family life nationally.
