THERE are just over two months to go until the European Amputee Football Championships in France.
And the Scotland team, likely to feature Eastriggs man Brian Murray, right, are more than halfway to their fundraising goal which would allow them to attend the tournament this June.
Last October, Scotland competed in group D of the inaugural Amputee Football Nations League, taking on teams from Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Albania and the Netherlands.
A top three finish meant they had secured their spot at the Euros.
The team does enjoy annual support from the Scottish FA via Scottish Para-Football, and sponsor The Mackay Clinic.
But the tournament presents huge additional costs in terms of travel, insurance, transport, crutches and equipment costs.
The team have a deficit of around £20,000 and are appealing to the public to get behind them.
So far, over half of the money has been raised.
