Covid police action

POLICE in Dumfries and Galloway have not issued any fines so far for breaking covid travel regulations.

However, a total of 83 fixed penalty notices have been handed out by officers in the region this year as part of covid enforcement measures.

Furthermore, 25 people have been arrested for breaching coronavirus rules.

And, since April, police have asked 1540 people to disperse in Dumfries and Galloway; and have had to use ‘reasonable force’ to disperse another 17.

The figures were released by Police Scotland this week.
