Crash closes A701

A CRASH has closed a section of the A701 road between Dumfries and Beattock.

At least two vehicles are understood to have been involved in the collision at Amisfield this morning.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At about 9.20 am there was a road crash on the A701 near Amisfield.
“It’s a car into a lorry.”
Several police patrol cars, fire engines and ambulances were seen heading to the scene of the collision.
And the police spokeswoman said: “They’ve closed there and diversions are in place.”

“MIDS were advertising the role, so I got in touch with the club, had a discussion with them and we took it from there,” said new Mid Annandale manager Craig Simpson as he spoke to the Annandale Herald this week.
