DUMFRIES is to host Scotland’s first ever Creative Placemaking Forum next week.
The kNOw One Place: Creative Placemaking Forum (KOP), will be a chance for attendees to share their own experience and be part of shaping a collective approach for creativity and placemaking in the South of Scotland and beyond.
Creative Placemaking is a community led approach that uses creative activity to support collective decision-making and positive change for people and the places they live.
Matt Baker, of The Stove Network, said: “The focus of creative placemaking is to bring under-represented voices from the community into conversations about the future of the area in which they live, through active creative projects. kNOw One Place is an ideal opportunity to bring together people, communities, groups and organisations, public, private and third sector agencies to develop common ground on community-led planning and enterprise.”
The forum will include guest speakers architect and philosopher Indy Johar; Mark Geddes, creative and cultural capital strategy manager at South of Scotland Enterprise, as well as Matt and others.
It will take place at the Loreburn Hall on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 September. Go to www.whatwedonow.scot
