Iain Anderson, Sean McIntyre, Stuart Ramsey, Blair Steele and Lee Wells, all from Dumfries, will be heading off to Croatia as part of the squad who are bidding for glory at the 32 team championships to be held in the coastal city of Vrsar.
The players all came through trials and training and had to compete with hundreds of others from around the country for the coveted slot.
Those trials took place up and down the country and were organised by the United Kingdom Football Association (UKMA).
UKMA national teams director Pete Mitchell said: “Competition was fierce, but they have impressed everyone with their skill and commitment in training, we are sure they will be worthy additions.”
The five lads have formed the backbone of the squad in recent years and have all played for the last two competitions.
They will join a Scotland squad who are making their third appearance at the European Championships.
They have had some mixed results so far, being knocked out in the group stages during the 2013 event in Crete, and the quarter finals in Montenegro 2014.
They kick off their campaign with a game against five time champions Romania on Tuesday September 22 at 4 pm UK time.
