The overhaul of the town’s library was due to be completed and open next month, but will instead open on Tuesday at 10 am.
Library services, book lending, local history and genealogy services and free access to computers and the internet will be available, as well as customer services, benefit and council tax enquiries, council information and reporting of faults.
Registration services including registration of births, deaths and marriages and conducting of civil marriages, civil partnerships and citizenship ceremonies will also be hosted.
Chairman of community and customer services committee councillor Tom McAughtrie said: “We have created a facility at the existing library premises in the town hall which will give you access to a wide range of information and services within one facility.
“These services continue to be delivered by helpful, knowledgeable staff who will be happy to assist with your enquiries.
“We have created an interview room which can be used for registration of events and private interview space.”
