With the riders gathered at the starting line, the event was started by the SSDA’s new interim chief executive Melanie Allen along with Maximilian Wussler, event director, and Malcolm Smith, race director, both of Golazo Cycling. Around 700 people attended the event bringing an expected £100,000 boost to the local economy, the overall winner was Mikey Mottram, a 32-year-old professional rider from Oxfordshire. 24-year-old Maddy Nutt finished as the top woman, and tenth overall of the 65 riders who managed to finish.
