Cyclist hurt in lorry collision

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was struck by a passing lorry near Chapelknowe last week.

Two people were riding bicycles on the minor B6357 road just outside the hamlet at around 12.30 pm on Friday, January 22 when one was hit and injured by a “silver flat bed lorry type vehicle” as it overtook the pair

Dumfries and Galloway Police have asked anybody who may have been in the area at the time to come forward – urging those with CCTV or dashcam footage or aware of “a similar vehicle driving in a dangerous manner in the vicinity recently” to call 101, quoting incident number 2769 of January 22.
