D-day for land bid

A FINAL decision will be made on Tuesday regarding a group’s bid to take on a ten year lease of the former Lockerbie Caravan Park land.

The request by the RH Youth Organisation will go before the local authority’s environment and infrastructure committee.

However, its members will take into account the recommendation from the Lockerbie and Lochmaben Common Good Fund sub committee not to grant the lease. Its members felt while the RH team do good work, locally, they could use the land without taking further ownership.

And they were keen to keep it as common good and open to all.

Meanwhile, the RH team are hoping for a turn around next week after what they described as a “very sad day” following the previous decision.
