Dancers kick up their heels for Christmas

IT WAS a knees up at Kirkton Old Tyme Dance Group’s annual Christmas party to celebrate the festive season.

Dancers in attendance on the day were treated to great music from William and Ian McRobert, as well as songs from organiser John Caskie.

A range of dances and games were included in the programme, such as ‘spot prize’ dances that were won by David and Jean in the first half and Margaret and Maris in the second half of the event.

Pass the parcel was another game played, won by Jennifer, while Maybeth won the corner game. Over £110 was raised for group funds in the raffle and Santa also made a guest appearance at the event, handing out gifts to every dancer before dancing the Britannia Two Step alongside other group members. Gavin Foster thanked John Caskie for his hard work and dedication to the group and offered him a gift from the members, and John thanked everyone in kind for their generosity and kindness.

The Kirkton Old Tyme Dance Group will return in 2024 for their next meeting at the Kirkton Village Hall on January 11 at 7.30 pm.
