Dental leaders speak out

THE British Dental Association has warned there can be no more complacency from politicians over Scotland’s dental situation.

It comes after research last summer found that no practices in Dumfries and Galloway were able to take on new adult NHS patients within three months.

Commenting at the start of 2025, David McColl, chair of the British Dental Association’s Scottish Dental Practice Committee said: “The Scottish Government likes to talk about registration when what really matters is participation.

“Scotland faces widening oral health inequalities. There’s no room for complacency from anyone at Holyrood.”
