Driver ordered to give up car

A MOTORIST who has been banned from driving for nine of the past 17 years was this week ordered to forfeit his car.

And Steven Moore, 53, was also banned from the road again for four years.
The latest disqualification came at Dumfries Sheriff Court yesterday when he admitted driving with nearly three times the permitted drink limit in his breath a month ago on the A711 road near Beeswing.
The police were called to an accident in which a car had hit a tree and Moore, of Railway Cottage, Kirkgunzeon, admitted being the driver.
It was stated that he had had a drink and stupidly decided to drive home.
Sheriff Brian Mohan said there seemed to be a thread of arrogance involved in the driver’s attitude.
In addition to the four year ban, Moore was made the subject to a community payback order for 200 hours community service and the forfeiture of his car was ordered.
