SPEEDS of over 120 mph were detected on on roads across Dumfries and Galloway yesterday.
Police were carrying out additional speed checks in the region as part of the pan-European Speed Enforcement Marathon.
In total, over 35 drivers were stopped and spoken locally in relation to their speed.
Several were also reported to the Procurator Fiscal, with speeds being detected over 120 mph.
Commenting, Constable Kemp said: “Road Safety continues to be a divisional priority, the speeds detected during this day of action are not acceptable, they devastate families, cause life changing injuries and impact those who may witness it. We will continue to carry out enforcement actions.
“Whatever your excuse, speeding is always a risk.”
