The thief who stole Christmas

CRUEL thieves snuck into a Dumfries home to swipe wrapped Christmas presents.

Police are investigating after a house was broken into between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

The house, on Craigs Road, near St Andrews Primary School, in Dumfries was targeted between 6 pm on Christmas Eve and 8.15 am on Boxing Day, while the owner was away spending time with her family.

A blue Dell laptop, a hand held mini hover, jewellery and a number of wrapped Christmas presents were all taken in the raid.

Constable Jordan Glendinning based at Dumfries said: “It defies belief that while most were setting down to enjoy Christmas with their families, someone has broken into this house and stolen items, including wrapped presents from within.

“I want to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspicious in the Craigs Road or surrounding area on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.”

He added: “We will be reviewing CCTV in the area and have carried out a scenes of crime examination but I’m keen to hear from anyone that knows where the Dell laptop or mini hand held hoover are now.

“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
