Flower club celebrates it's 60th anniversary

DUMFRIES and District Flower Club launched their “Fights of Fancy” event yesterday to celebrate their 60th anniversary.

Hosted at the Crichton Memorial Church, it will run until September 24 and includes more than 20 different flower arrangements celebrating Scottish heroes and folk stories.

DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY . . . the specially designed diamond which greets visitors as they come into the church

Members of the club have used all of their skill and imagination to make the diamond year festival one to remember.

Displays will include heroes such as Professor James Bell Pettigrew, Robert the Bruce and the Spider, dreamcatchers, magic carpets and Maggie Osborne, the Witch of Glenluce.

The three day festival will run from 10 am to 4 pm every day. Tickets cost £5 per person. For more information, click here.
