Local delicacy on show in Whitehall

FOOD PROMOTION . . . local MP and Scotland Secretary David Mundell has hosted a reception in London to promote Scottish food and drink businesses, as part of a ‘Taste of Scotland’ series.

One of the Scottish delicacies available to taste was the famous Ecclefechan Tart, which is produced and marketed internationally by well-known Speyside bakery firm, Walkers.

The event, raising the profile of the Scottish food industry, an important employer, was staged in Dover House, home of the Scotland Office in Whitehall.

Homemade tarts, baked in Ecclefechan itself, are also on sale in the village’s Tennant House Stores.

Mr Mundell is pictured with Jacqui Walker from the famous Highland food business at the Scotland Office reception.
