Be
Eighth time lucky for Georgie and Paul

A DUMFRIES couple finally tied the knot at the eighth attempt.

Georgie Boyle, 29, and Paul Burrell, 31, had been planning their dream wedding since getting engaged in Lanzarote nearly four years ago.

They decided to get hitched at Hetland Hall on October 10 last year, but the pair were gutted when it had to be cancelled due to covid regulations.

The loved up duo were convinced restrictions had to ease up at some point so kept pushing the wedding back six weeks at a time.

After seven failed efforts, Georgie and Paul finally said ‘I do’ on Sunday in front of 50 guests.

Georgie said: “Paul and  I are absolutely delighted that we are finally married , all the stress from previous postponements all disappeared as soon as we arrived at Hetland the night before our big day.

“It was definitely worth the wait, the weather was beautiful and our day just couldn’t have been more perfect.

“Our photographer Graham Edwards and wedding planner at Hetland Hall, Natasha Thomson, were brilliant throughout. We honestly couldn’t have done it without their support.

“The last year has honestly been a rollercoaster, we don’t know whether we are coming or going, the rules have changed that many times.”

She added: “I really feel for brides and grooms all over the country who have had similar problems for the past year. Our family and friends have been great keeping our spirits up.”
