They celebrate the best of environmentally sustainable farming and produce from across the nation.
The categories are:
Sustainable Small Farm of the Year
Sustainable Farm of the Year
Sustainable Food Producer of the Year
Sustainable Retail Outlet of the Year
Sustainable Product of the Year
Rare Breeds Survival Trust Champion of the Year
Winners will be chosen by a judging panel chaired by Dumfries and Galloway farmer Rebecca McLellan, chair of RBST Scotland and a former winner of the sustainable retail outlet of the year award.
And an award ceremony will take place at the Royal Highland Show in June.
RBST is a national charity working to promote and conserve the UK’s rare native livestock and equine breeds.
Scotland co-ordinator Alice Lennox said: “People and businesses across Scotland are excelling in farming, food production, farm diversifications and retail where business acumen goes hand in hand with supporting the environment.
“RBST is proud to showcase and celebrate their expertise, dedication and innovation with these sought-after awards.”
Entries are free and paperless, the online entry form can be downloaded at https://rbstscotland.org and must be submitted to [email protected] by May 19. Nominations can either be submitted by third parties or by the nominees themselves. Submissions should include reference to native livestock and/or equine breeds.
