Entries sought for Nature Awards

CALLING all nature enthusiasts in Dumfries and Galloway – entries are now open for the RSPB Scotland Nature of Scotland Awards 2025. With ten categories available, individuals and organisations from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

And they want to hear about “Inspirational people, projects and organisations” which are working to tackle the nature and climate crisis.

The competition aims to recognise passionate individuals passionate about wildlife and the environment. Any work carried out since March 2022 is eligible, and entry is free.

In addition, this year introduces a new category, the “Outstanding Contribution Award,” which honours individuals who have gone above and beyond in protecting wildlife.

Applications can be submitted via the RSPB website by Tuesday 27 May, with the shortlist set to be announced at the Scottish Parliament on 10 September. The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony on 20 November at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
