Epic sky-dive for Alasdair

DUMFRIES man Alasdair Rankin completed an epic tandem sky-dive in support of Scottish Action for Mental Health.

The intrepid boss and managing director of Dumfries-based firm Aitken Turnbull Architects descended 15000 feet from a twin-engine aircraft high above Peterlee Airfield in County Durham.

Alasdair rose to the adventurous charitable challenge which was selected by his fellow staff members at Aitken Turnbull, and he has surpassed his initial £1500 with contributions continuing to roll-in towards £2000, which will be added to the firm’s overall fundraiser for the charity with has raised £7000.

Alasdair is absolutely delighted to have raised so much money for the charity, he said:“I relished the opportunity to do this sky dive. It took me way out of my comfort zone, but when we reflect on the fantastic work done by Scottish Action for Mental Health and how they transform thousands of lives, I was more than delighted to take part.

“My thanks not only to my Aitken Turnbull colleagues for their very inspired suggestion and to the team at Sky-High Sky Diving for their invaluable help on the day, but also to everyone who sponsored me.”
