Eskdale fire station crowned best in region

LANGHOLM Fire Station was recently named winner of the Dumfries and Galloway Best Station Audit Award for 2024.

And this week the Muckle Toon team were presented with a shield from area commander Derek Heaton.

Langholm station have performed to high standards throughout this year whether this be on a drill night, at training exercises, attending incidents or engaging with the local community.

The station personnel are highly professional and dedicated to their roles. The station has a combination of experience and youth which allows for great learning and development opportunities within the team.

Management work hard alongside all station personnel to ensure training and work activities are delivered and station targets are met.

The Best Dumfries and Galloway Station Shield Award is not only just reward for the Langholm crew, but it is also dedicated to the families, friends and employers of the on call personnel, whom without their support and sacrifices the station would not be the success that it has proven to be.

The audits this year were of a very high standard across Dumfries and Galloway, so all station personnel should be extremely proud of their achievement.

Anyone who has an interest in joining an on-call station or just interested in finding out some more about the role can contact their local fire station for more information.
