ScottishPower Renewables has applied to to the Scottish Ministers for consent to build and operate Harestanes South Windfarm Extension – with the hopes of generating up to 50MW of power from the 200m-high turbines.

If approved, it will bring the total number of turbines associated with the Harestanes site to 76.

Anyone wishing to comment on the proposals can do so until March 1 via the Energy Consents Unit website at www.energyconsents.scot/Register.aspx; by emailing the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents unit at [email protected]; or by post to the Scottish Government, Energy Consents Unit, 4th Floor, 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow, G2 8LU.

Ministers will be asked to consent or refuse the application.
