Fatal crash victim named

THE motorcyclist who died in a crash near Moffat last week has been named as Iain Macrory.

The 61-year-old was killed when his silver Honda VFR bike was in a collision with a white Volvo lorry on the B7076 last Wednesday afternoon at about 4.25 pm.

His family are aware.

Police are continuing to appeal for information following the fatal crash near the junction to Newton Wamphray.

Sergeant Lloyd Caven today said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Iain Macrory at this difficult time.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would again appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us with any information. If you have dash-cam equipment, please check it for any footage which could assist our ongoing investigation.”
