Festival won’t perform next year

A POPULAR music festival is taking a year off.

The team behind Perform in Dumfries: Dumfries and District Music Festival (DDMFA) this week announced they are postponing the 2024 event.

In a statement, DDMFA said: “Many of you will be aware that we recently lost several committee members due to retirement, relocation and other life events. Our committee is now considerably depleted. “Following our recent committee meeting, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the 2024 festival in the hope that we can gain some more support to enable us to run both speech and music festivals in March 2025.”

And they have appealed for new faces to join their ranks, adding: “Please bear with us and let us know if you feel you could join our committee to help with either the speech or music elements in the future. Let’s make 2025 happen.”

To sign up, contact chair Fiona Collins by email at [email protected].
