Final curtain call for music bash

A MUSIC lover is hoping to raise £10,000 for charity this weekend when he throws open the door to his last ever Music 4 Meningitis (M4M) event

Chris Marsh, started M4M four years ago, as an alternative event to throwing himself a 40th bash.

He said: “M4M started as a one-off for my 40th birthday featuring three locals bands.

“I was inspired by my good friend, Michael Pattie, who has done so much for local charities and the Meningitis Research Foundation after he lost his son David to the disease, his tireless work to introduce new vaccines against this deadly disease is noth- ing short of amazing.”

The fifth and final M4M18 will feature Ward and Watson, The Lutras, Brian “Nasher” Nash from Frankie Goes to Hollywood and more.

So far Chris has raised £8600 from hosting the previous four M4M events and he hopes to hit the £10,000 mark this Saturday.

He said: “I am putting out a musical call to arms for all Doonhamers and those from surrounding areas to come out to enjoy a brilliant night of music as well as raise funds and awareness for the Meningitis Research Foundation and Cash for Kids.

“This is the final curtain as the amount of work for one person is quite a heavy workload, but never say never, it could return.”

M4M takes place this Saturday at the Venue from 8 pm to 11 pm.
