It will explain various options for cycling safely with the family.
Families who already cycle together can take all their equipment between 12-2 pm, from child seats to trailers, to demonstrate to others the appropriate way to engage in this activity.
A mechanic will be on site running maintenance checks, there will be bike themed games for the children, ending with a ‘kidical mass’ ride along the river.
In collaboration with Cycling Dumfries and Cycling UK, the scheme aims to get more people on their bikes, stressing that safety is key.
Co-ordinator of Cycling Dumfries Sally Hinchcliffe said: “We know that many people in Dumfries would like to cycle more with their families but they don’t always know what the options are for cycling safely and easily with young children.
“We’re inviting the real experts – families who already cycle – to come and show off their bikes and kit, and swap tricks and tips.”
