First market festival of the year to go digital

THE FIRST Dumfries Market Festival of 2021 will take place online this weekend, in line with coronavirus restrictions.

On Saturday, March 13 the Guild Dumfries’ event, which is now running on the second Saturday of each month until November, will go virtual for the first time.

Throughout the day products from around 30 of the region’s talented crafters, home-grown food and drinks producers and independent retailers will be available to buy online.

Organisers said: “We know it won’t completely replace our in-person market festival, but it’s a positive alternative.

“You will be able to browse the online market directory with each trader featured. Click the links to place your orders, commission special gifts, homewares and more.

“You can also expect a line-up of fun, inspiring, hands on activities, music, demos, and virtual studio tours throughout the day on facebook and instagram. Lets us know you’re coming by visiting our official event over on Facebook and invite friends and family along.”

Find out more and attend the market at www.theguilddumfries.org.
