Five taken to hospital following A75 crash

FIVE people were taken to hospital yesterday morning following a two-vehicle crash on the A75 near Gretna.

The collision occurred at around 11.10 am at the junction with the B721, involving a black Peugeot 3008 and a white Ford Transit van.

An 83-year-old man and a 77-year-old man were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Three further men, aged 77, 60, and 31, were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road did not reopen until shortly after 8 pm.

Enquiries remain ongoing and road policing officers are appealing for information.

Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us. We also ask anyone driving in the area at the time with dashcam footage to come forward.”
