Flag football in player plea

A FAST growing non-contact version of American Football is being played in Carlisle with plans for expansion.

And players are sought from north of the border.

The Border Centurions play flag football every Wednesday and Saturday.

It is a non-contact, technical and fast moving version of traditional American football, tackles are made by pulling flags that opponents wear on their hips.

The Carlisle team currently have around 60 members of all ages and abilities.

They plan to field a team in the league next year and have hopes for a youth team as well in the future.

New members aged 16 plus are welcome along either by contacting the team’s Facebook group – Border City Centurions (Flag Football) or contacting Nick Weston from Eastriggs at [email protected]
