A ‘FLASHER’ who shocked two women in Lochmaben in the early morning has been banned from entering the town by the Sheriff at Dumfries.

Richard Patterson, 23, admitted exposing himself in a sexual manner to one elderly lady at 7.30 am in the town’s Castle Street and repeated the offence in front of a middle aged woman in Well Street.
The details were disclosed in the court when Patterson, whose address had been given as Croft Terrace in Lochmaben, admitted indecently exposing himself in a sexual manner in front of the women on June 20 and July 10.
The court was told that in the first case the woman had been out for a newspaper when she was confronted, while the second woman was having a cigarette in her car before setting off for work.
A solicitor said Patterson’s mother was in the public benches and was prepared to take him in at her home at Newington Road in Annan.
Sheriff Michael Anderson deferred sentence to August 12 for background reports and placed Patterson on the sex offenders’ register.
