Four new jobs at golf shop after £70k boost

A £70,000 investment by Europe’s biggest golf retailer into a store in Dumfries has resulted in four new members of staff.

American Golf has made the commitment at Dumfries & Galloway Golf Club, hailing the introduction of state-of-the-art club equipment.

Store manager Ross Marchbank said: “I’m delighted with the team we’ve put together to launch the new store.

“The facilities at the golf club cater for all levels of golfer and with access to the best equipment and the latest club fitting technology, our team of new recruits can set about helping the areas golfers improve every aspect of their game.

“The facilities and staff team we’re putting together for the opening are first class and I know that there are already plans in the pipeline to expand.

“Pretty soon the offer at Dumfries and Galloway will be second to none.”

In addition to the latest Flightscope club fitting technology and expert advice on site, the club boasts a well respected 6222 yard course.

Daniel Gathercole from American Golf, and he said: “American Golf is on a mission to bring the best facilities to existing golfers and provide expert guidance to anyone wanting to start or get back into the game.

“A venue like Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club is well respected in the area, in a great location, and gives us a chance to be at the heart of a golfing community.

“We’re delighted to make the investment into the venue and the people of the Dumfries area and can only see great things for the future development at the club.”
