A FUNDRAISING page has been set up to help cover funeral costs for a 31-year-old from Dumfries who recently passed away unexpectedly.

Nathan Scott was a proud Scotsman and Celtic supporter. He has been described as having a ‘vibrant’ character and being ‘full of life and energy’.

Nathan went to St Andrew’s Primary School and afterwards attended St Joseph’s, then Dumfries and Galloway College.

In the world of work he was a jack of all trades, having worked at Arla, as well as working as a welder and also doing agency work for various industries in the local area.

Family friend Reece Smith has organised the fundraising page.

He said yesterday: “Nathan’s circumstances were very unexpected and not something that anyone saw coming.

“Nathan was a vibrant character, full of life and energy. He had an infectious spirit that lit up every room he entered and was known for his love of travelling to festivals, embracing every moment, and creating unforgettable memories.

“Nathan was passionate about books, his favourite author was Terry Pratchet and his favourite books were the Lord Of The Rings.

“He loved history, especially Scotland, being the proud Scotsman that he was, he loved current affairs and was aware of most, if not all, global issues.

“He was also passionate about music, specifically being a keen amateur singer at home (amusingly), and having attended various concerts and festivals, his favourite being the Reading Festival and the Fringe.

“Nathan was also passionate about his football team, having gone to several matches over his lifetime and was planning on going to more.”

Reece added: “In honour of Nathan’s memory and the incredible impact he had on so many lives, we are setting up this GoFundMe campaign.

“The fundraising will be solely going to funeral costs, should the limit be exceeded it would be going to charity in Nathan’s name in honour of his memory.”
