Fruit machines hit in pub raid

GAMING machines were the target of thieves who broke into a Dumfries pub on Friday.

A four figure sum of cash was stolen during the break-in at Greens in St Michael Street some time between 12.30 am and 9.20 am.
Detective Constable Gary Story at Dumfries said: “The gaming machines seem to have been the target for the thieves in this break-in and they have damaged them in getting to the cash.
“We want to hear from anyone who may have been about the St Michael Street area on the early hours of Friday morning to get in touch with us here at Dumfries if they saw or heard anything suspicious.
“Callers can pass information to us on the 101 number, or, if they wish to remain anonymous then through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
