Funding chance

COMMUNITIES  across Dumfries & Galloway are being encouraged to apply for the final round of funding from the Destination Tweed Community Grants Scheme.

The scheme, which is part of the £25 million Destination Tweed project, has made just over £50,000 available in grants ranging from £1,000 to £10,000. Eligible projects must be based within two kilometres of the River Tweed or the River Annan from Moffat and must connect to the rivers’ natural environment, heritage, or cultural stories.

“This final round of funding offers a unique opportunity for local groups to bring their ideas and plans to life. The River Tweed has long been a source of inspiration, connection and community so we hope that organisations will come forward to apply for grants that will celebrate its rich heritage, wildlife and stories,” said Charlotte Douglas, senior project officer at the Tweed Forum, pictured above.

The application deadline is Wednesday 11 June. More information regarding the funding can be found on the Destination Tweed website. People can also contact Charlotte Douglas at the Tweed Forum on 01896 849723 or via email at [email protected].
