Fundraiser rewarded for charity work
HEROIC. . . John Patterson receiving his award from Morrisons for his heroism

SUPER fundraiser John Patterson has won an award for his good deeds.

As part of their Moments of Hope campaign, Morrisons have given awards to four heroes of the community, each award based on a letter of the word ‘Hope’.

John, of Annan, has won the accolade for his tireless charity work, such as raising £45,000 for Newstart Recycle, Annan Day Centre, D&G Blood Bikes, Catherine Street Inclusive Play Park and local schools.

He goes out of his way to collect Christmas presents so children can have gifts during the holiday season.

John has also raised £13,000 for a local child to receive life-saving treatment and is currently raising money for CFM Cash for Kids by training for the Great North Run.

Morrisons thanked John for his services to his local community and urged him to continue the good work.

John said: “It was such a lovely surprise to receive this amazing award, I’d just like to thank the public again for all of their continued support over the last 3 years as they have been incredible.

I’m currently training for the Great North Run and again the support has been fantastic and so far raised another £1400.”
