ENTRIES and nominations are now open for the 2025 Lockerbie Gala principals.
Anyone interested in being the 2025 Lockerbie Gala Queen can pick up an entry form from the Lockerbie Academy office.
Entrants must be an S3 girl attending Lockerbie Academy, and if living outwith Lockerbie they must not live in a town or village that holds its own gala or similar festival. All gala queen entries must be submitted by Friday February 14.
There are also a variety of roles up for grabs for primary pupils, including those of flower girl, page and junior attendants. Entry forms have been sent to all eligible primary schools within the Lockerbie Academy catchment area and should be being handed out in the coming days. All primary-aged applications should be returned to crowning convenor Lauren Jardine by 6.30 pm on Wednesday February 5.
The search is on too for the 2024 Cornet and Cornets Lass. Candidates must be 18 or over, not have been married and live within the Lockerbie Academy catchment area. The nomination must be signed by the candidate and include the names and signatures of two local council tax paying witnesses.
All entries for Cornet and Cornets Lass should be submitted in writing to [email protected] or by sealed letter to Lockerbie Town Hall office by 4 pm on Thursday February 6.
