THORNHILL’S gala week kicks off today.
The crowning of 2025 Queen Saskia Dickson at the community centre will signal the start of a full week of free community events and fun building up to gala day itself on Saturday July 12.
On Gala Day celebrations will begin at 9 am with the ride out, followed at 10 am by a coffee morning and target bowls at the Bowling Club.
The fancy dress and float parade then assembles at 11 am and travels through the village before returning to the community centre for the opening of gala day events. Festivities kick off with the Pipe Band procession and performances, followed by more entertainment, live music from Memphis, stalls, inflatables, rides and even a fire performance.
