CHAMPIONSHIP cycling will return to Newton Stewart in summer 2024.
Scottish cycling announced on Wednesday that the Galloway Hillbillies Bike Club will host the Scottish National Road Race Champs on Sunday August 4, for senior open, as well as senior and junior female riders.
Commenting on the announcement, a spokesperson for Scottish Cycling said: “We can’t wait to head down to Newton Stewart in August, but in addition we have nine National Series rounds with Edinburgh RC kicking off the season with the welcome return of the Gifford Road Race in March, while the Drummond and Hugh Dornan Races continue the Alba series into May.
“The Scotia Series has a short and sweet feel to it’s first three rounds with The Straiton Struggle – which doubles up as round four of the Alba Series – starting the series on the 25th May, before the Duffus and Pippa Handley RR follow soon after.
“The finale for both series will take place on 11th August, with Outsider Events’ Road Race in the East and Central region, more details to come on that in the new year.”
