Gav’s open for talks with Queens

QUEEN of the South striker Gavin Reilly insists he’s not decided his future amid speculation he could leave the club at the end of the season.

There had been whispers around Dumfries that the 30-year-old was considering dropping down to part-time football next campaign.

But the Gretna-born forward has set the record straight that no conversations have happened with the club but he is now open to discussions as the Doonhamers’ League One safety has been secured.

Reilly said: “There’s always rumours about me and I will always do what is best for me and my family.

“No one from the club has come and spoken to me yet and I understand that because of the situation of where we were going to be.

“I imagine there will be conversations soon as the club will know where we are going to be next season.”

He added: “I was very grateful to win all these awards (from the fans) and feel I had a good season, personally, but I would rather it was linked with doing well as a team.

“It was relief more than anything to gain safety (against Cove) but as the gaffer said that is a situation we should not have put ourselves in but we are just glad we have put that to bed.

“We have one game to go and we can now go and enjoy that game.”
