IN just under three weeks’ time eligible voters in Dumfries and Galloway will head to the polls to vote for who they want to be their next MP.
The results will help shape the UK Government for the next five years. But just how it important is it for you to have your say?
We completed vox-pops on Dumfries High Street; spoke to younger people on how prepared they feel to make a decision; and a community council chairman, who offered his advice to those voting for the first time and explained why it is vital that they should have their say.
Registering to vote takes no more than five minutes, and it can be done online at gov.uk/register-to-vote The deadline for this is Tuesday, June 18.
