They are, in order of oldest to youngest: Meg Little, 92; Carol Little, 62; Claire Little, 40; Chloe Johnstone, 23; and two-year-old Millie Jamieson.

Meg said: “I was born on the 1st of April 1930 and moved to Annan in 1958 from Catterick Army Base with my husband.

“We got married and moved to the Back of the Hill.”

Discussing the family portrait, she said: “We had hoped to originally get the picture before, but then the pandemic came along.”

All five generations live in Annan within a stones throw of Meg’s house in Waterfoot Road. She is a grandmother to seven, great grandmother to 14 and is thrilled to have one great-great grandchild, Millie.

Born in Darlington, Meg has lived through five monarchs and 21 prime ministers. She likes to share tales from life during the war years with her nearest and dearest.
