Get set for a summer of reading

A SUMMER Reading Challenge will run in the region this year for children aged 4-11.

Libraries across Dumfries and Galloway are encouraging youngsters to set a reading goal and collect rewards for reading anything they enjoy.

Children can sign up at their local library or online, and it’s free to take part.

The theme is Story Garden – Adventures in Nature and the Great Outdoors, and the aim is to explore the connection between storytelling and nature through reading about magical creatures, vibrant plants and enchanting landscapes.

Anyone who reads six books over the summer holidays will receive free bookmarks, bags, pop badges and stickers, and on completing the challenge they will get a certificate and medal.
