POLICE have made a fresh appeal for information following a crash near Monreith that left an eight-year-old girl in a serious condition in hospital.
It happened on the A747 Glenluce to Glasserton road at 10.50 am on Tuesday and involved a black Mitsubishi L200 car and a young pedestrian.
She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. There were no other injuries.
The road was closed for around eight hours to allow enquiries to be carried out.
Commenting, road policing sergeant Colin Ramage said: “Our enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I would appeal to any witnesses to please contact police.
“In addition, drivers with dash-cam footage around the time of the incident are asked to come forward as this may assist with our enquiries.”
