Goal drought over for Allan

IT had been nine games without a goal for Jordan Allan in Queens colours.

The on-loan Falkirk striker had bagged his first for the Doonhamers against Inverness in January on his home debut.

A lot has happened for Allan since, including slipping and missing his spot-kick against Stenhousemuir, but as luck would have it going up against Inverness again at Palmerston would see him back on the scoresheet.

Allan said: “As a striker you are going to go through these stages. It’s all about when that time comes you just need to take that chance. I have missed a couple of chances in the last two weeks but you can’t let that impact you too much.

“Every striker in the world – even if it’s the top or the bottom level – goes through it.

“It’s about getting back on that trail of scoring goals and hopefully that’s me back on the trail.”

Allan was everywhere during Queens’ win over the Caley Jags and scored the home side’s second of the afternoon.

Reacting to the win, Allan said: “It was a brilliant performance as a whole.

“It’s a team game, we all worked hard and we got the reward.

“There were some great goals scored and to get the three points in that manner was pleasing.”

And now Allan wants his teammates to focus on five “cup finals” starting with the derby clash at Galabank.

He added: “It’s a bit of needle with both teams needing the result at opposite ends of the league.

“It’s a local derby, anything can happen but we’ve got to make sure we’re focused going into the game and try and get another three points.”
