The forward – who joined the Doonhamers in October after he was made redundant due to the Highlanders going into administration – was clinical on Tuesday night.
Brooks said: “I’m ecstatic. It was written in the stars that I would score. I woke up this morning and I was manifesting that I would score as many goals as I could against them.
“I got two, I wanted three but you can’t ask for that much. I was initially upset coming off when I was on a hat-trick but that’s just my attitude. Sometimes it’ll look bad but the gaffer made the decision and it turned out to be the best one as Jordan Allan came on and scored the winner.”
Brooks made his debut against Saturday’s opponents Dumbarton and he admits he wants to right some wrongs after Queens lost to the Sons last time out.
“Hopefully we can get the three points and continue our good run of form. It wasn’t nice to be on the losing side on my debut so we need to make up for that on Saturday.”
Meanwhile, Palmy gaffer Peter Murphy admits he was delighted that Brooks scored against his former employers.
He added: “The circumstances in which we got Adam weren’t ideal but we’re really lucky to have him. He’s come in, scored a few goals and he looks really sharp. You can tell he’s loving his football.
“Adam notified our physio that his thigh was a bit sore at half time.
“We have three games in a week, he put in a good shift on Saturday and worked really hard for the team today.
“But we’ve got to think about our players as we have three games inside a week.
“I know the dream for him was to score a hat-trick against Inverness but we need to look after him so he’s available for Saturday.”
