Grants for Gaelic

DUMFRIES language lovers can receive up to £500 of funding to take part in this year’s World Gaelic Week 2025.

Tackling the theme ‘Ceanglaichean gun Chrìch’, which translates as ‘Building Connections’ in English, it is centred around the idea that language is about connections – linguistic, cultural and human.

Organisers are encouraging individuals, community groups and organisations across the region interested in celebrating Gaelic in their community to get involved.

Funding comes from Bòrd na Gaèdhlig, Seachdain na Gàidhlig.

The festival will take place from 24 February – 2nd March 2025. To find out more, go to https://seachdainnagaidhlig.scot
