Great start to the year for hotel team

A HOTEL in Lockerbie has started 2017 on a high thanks to five new award wins and an upcoming TV appearance.

The Townhead Hotel last week celebrated taking home five accolades in the regional finals of the Scottish Hotel Awards.

Prizes for Inn of the Year 2017, Bar Dining Hotel of the Year 2017 and Front of House Team of the Year were all presented to owner Stephen Montgomery.

And the hotel’s Laura McEwan was awarded Hotel Sous Chef of the Year, while Holly Seller received the Deputy Manager of the Year award.

But that is not all the excitement the team at the Townhead establishment have been enjoying, for they are set to appear on Channel 4 show Four in a Bed later this year.

The programme will see Stephen and his staff welcome three other B&B or inn owners to Lockerbie in the hope they fall head over heels in love with the Townhead.

In turn, Stephen and girlfriend Jan Livingstone visit three other establishments and rate their stays in a battle to be crowned the best, in scenes that are set to air later this year.

Stephen said: “I am thrilled to have achieved so much in the last year, which started with the Channel 4 programme ‘Four in a Bed,’ and then to have received the latest five awards.

“All this has been down to the hard work of all my staff, and their continued efforts to making us what we are, and I can not praise them enough.” Four in a Bed was filmed in September last year and is set to air soon.
