Gretna Green hotels named finalists at Scottish Prestige Hotel Awards

GRETNA Green, the renowned, award-winning, family-owned destination famous for weddings, tourism, and hospitality, has announced that two of its iconic hotels, Gretna Hall Hotel and Smiths Hotel at Gretna Green, have been named finalists at the Scottish Prestige Hotel Awards 2025.

Celebrated for their excellence and distinct character, both hotels have been shortlisted across several categories, reflecting Gretna Green’s continued commitment to outstanding guest experiences, sustainability, and heartfelt Scottish hospitality.

Gretna Hall Hotel has been recognised as a finalist in the following categories: Best Hotel Bar; Best Wedding Hotel; Best Independently Owned Hotel; and Best Historic/Heritage Hotel.

Meanwhile, Smiths Hotel at Gretna Green, a stylish and contemporary four-star hotel, is also a finalist in four categories: Best Independently Owned Hotel; Best Eco/Sustainable Hotel; Best Wedding Hotel; and Best Events and Conference Hotel.

Now in its seventh year, the Scottish Prestige Hotel Awards celebrate excellence across Scotland’s hospitality industry. With nominations and voting powered entirely by the public, the Awards remain an independent and inclusive platform that champions the very best in hotel service.

Over 600 members of Scotland’s most respected hospitality businesses are expected to gather for the Gala Final on May 15 in Glasgow, where the winners will be announced.

John Holliday, executive chairman of Gretna Green, said: “We’re delighted and honoured to see both Gretna Hall Hotel and Smiths Hotel recognised in so many categories. It’s a true reflection of the incredible work our teams put in every day to create unforgettable experiences for our guests.”
