Both the Gretna and Rigg and the Springfield and Gretna Green Community Councils held memorial events for the fallen.

Springfield and Gretna Green Council held a memorial at 11 am on November 11 for those lost in the Quintinshill rail disaster a century ago.

Council member Frank Clarkson laid a wreath and said a few words before a minute of silence, and it finished with musical accompaniment by a piper.

Then, Gretna and Rigg Community Council held two events on November 13, with wreaths being laid at All Saints Gretna at 10.45 am, and 10.50 am at the Cenotaph at Gretna Old Church.

Both Simon Turner and Catherine Stevenson represented the GRCC and laid wreaths for each of these events respectively.
